Kronos Festival 2023 — Promo Trailer
In close collaboration with our friends at High Dive Studio, we created a promo trailer for Kronos Festival 2023, hosted by the Grammy-winning Kronos Quartet. Being long time fans of the quartet, we took great care and pride in the work we did for this video and we love the tactile, hand-made look that resulted. The delightful & plucky music is by composer Susie Ibarra.
The 2023 Kronos Festival showcased pieces created for Kronos' 50 for the Future project, including works by Rhiannon Giddens, Philip Glass, Zakir Hussain, Angélique Kidjo, Terry Riley, Wu Man, and more.

Kronos Festival 2023 — Promo Trailer
The existing art direction of the 2023 festival included a colorful, gradient-filled, watercolor dot motif, so we decided to lean into that look. High Dive used an ink and water wash technique to create high contrast video clips, which we pulled into After Effects and used as luma mattes. This allowed us to fill them with words, images and vibrant colors.
